Happy Halloween?

So apparently Grant is a Halloween Grinch.  He wasn't feeling very well at our Halloween Party yesterday and then today slept through all the Hoboken events.  Oh well.  Thankfully I got some cute pictures of him earlier this week...

 At the party yesterday...

Today after he woke up from his extra-long nap, I dressed him up again, hoping for maybe a smiling shot?

This is what Grant thinks of his costume...

New Pictures!

So not much new to say, but I did get some new pictures of Grant. We're doing our best to get in as much park time as possible before the cold weather hits. Can't wait to share Halloween pictures! I hope Grant will keep his costume on at least a little.

Clapping!

So it's next to impossible for me to get a clapping video of Grant where I don't sound like an idiot. Bummer. Here's one where I sound less like an idiot than usual. Enjoy!

Not sure why it looks old-timey. Shoot. Ok, well I'll try to break out the real video camera...

Not a baby post!

Well, I don't have much news to report in the baby world...Grant is getting over his first sickness and it's been a tough week.  Thankfully he is in a much better mood today and seems to be getting his appetite back (fingers crossed).

On the other hand, if anyone is interested, Eamonn and I had a nice anniversary getaway to New Haven, CT.  Not a typical vacation hot spot, but I suppose we're not a typical couple.  On vacation, all we really want to do is eat and sleep...maybe lay out in the sun, if possible.  If you don't know, New Haven has some famous pizza places, and we're into that.  So off we went on Wednesday night.  We ate at Sally's Pizza and Frank Pepe Pizzeria..mmmmm.  We also ate at a great nice restaurant, Heirloom, which was in the hotel I wanted to stay at (alas, our trip was too last minute to get a room).  That's basically all we did...we did walk around Yale campus and visit the famous Louis Lunch (where the first hamburger was served).  Here are the pictures we took, pretty much all food.

Sally's Apizza (Yum!) - Wednesday night
Yes it was that dark and divey looking

Thursday...thankfully Louis Lunch was closed...we were definitely too full to eat anything there

Frank Pepe's...look at that oven (also note the brighter atmosphere)

That's all...I'll be back next week with some new pictures of the man

9 months old!

Today is Grant's 9 month birthday.  To celebrate he showed us that he can stand, unassisted, for around 4-5 seconds.  He's been doing a second or two here or there, but now he's definitely finding his balance.  I'm sure it won't be long before he figures out he doesn't need my hands to take a step or two.  My guess is he'll be walking in the next month.  I guess we'll see.  I had Eamonn to help with the pictures this month, so I think we got a few good ones.  As far as his stats, he doesn't have a dr visit until 1 year, so no official 9 month info.  However, he got his flu shot on Monday and he was 18 pounds, 14 oz and 27.5".

According to our doctor we can start decreasing his formula a little, which I'm hoping might make him a little less picky with his solids.  He used to eat anything and everything we put in front of him, but now, not so much.  He's very fickle with purees...eating a ton of something at one meal and then clamping his mouth shut at the next.  It's a little frustrating for me because it's hard to know what to prepare.  I hate wasting food, but I also want to have enough to keep him happy if he is hungry.  Basically at this point I'm working on keeping the fridge/cabinets stocked with enough choices to give him quickly.  It's challenging, but at least it's a fun culinary challenge.  Today for lunch Grant had cannelini beans and zucchini, a combination I thought might be tasty.  He seemed to agree.  Tomorrow I'm planning on making pancakes with applesauce, in an attempt to get some fruit into him.  He does much better with things he can pick up himself.  Wish me luck!

Without further ado....here are the pictures.

Stroller Stampede!

So the stroller stampede was a success and a disaster.  The concept was great.  A stroller walk from Church Square over to the restaurant (in the w hotel).  By the time we actually got there Grant wanted out of his stroller, his high chair, everything.  He was a bit of a cranky pants.  Oh well.  The food was good, it was definitely a good cause and that's that.  Man that place was trashed after though...

Here are the pictures I got

And here's Grant sneaking some other girl's food...lol
